Top of the tree in this list is our very own beloved work, Peekskill. The theme’s subtle design choices, such as hiding the menu to allow your content to shine, really set this one apart.
The theme is very much geared towards making your images the star of the show, which is acheved through elegant design and typography and im sure after just a few moments with the demo you will agree. Peekskill is powered by industry stalwart Visual Composer – delivering ease of use with awesome bespoke components, so be sure to checkout Peekskill.

2. Pillar – Multipurpose Multi-Concept Responsive WordPress Theme
Another of our fine themes here, which certainly can be used to great effect for showcasing your portfolio as you can see by the excellent photography demo.
Since launch Pillar has proven to be very popular for photographers as they esspecially appreciate the wide variety of layouts available for not only your portfolio archives, but single projects too. In a simialr vein to many of our themes, Pillar is packed with all the options you would need as well as multiple header and footer styles, which when coupled with the wonderful Visual Composer included in the package, gives you all you could wish for to really make it your own.
3. Stack – Multi-Purpose WordPress Theme with Variant Page Builder & Visual Composer
I don’t mean to harp on about this theme, I really don’t, but here is another example of a niche which out flagship offering, Stack for WordPress can lend itself to in style.
The sleek, modern design on offer with Stack lets your images speak volumes, and given the huge array of options which let you control everything from the headers and footer style on a per page basis, as well as numerous design options to boot. The real ace up the sleeve here is Variant however, the optional page builder (you can use Visual Composer which is also provided instead if you prefer). Variant gives you the simplest UI for creating rich pages with no fuss, so if you want to spend more time expanding your work rather than site-building, this one is for you.
4. Photography | Photobooth Photography Portfolio
One of the smaller offerings in today’s list, Photobooth comes from a smaller developer in the ThemeForest sphere, but its a good effort non the less.
The themes design, is minimal to the core, which means your images are certain to be the main focus for any page you could create. Smart use of several slider scripts gives you an ideal platform for creating fullscreen galleries and more – and with Visual Composer under the hood, you know its fun to build with too.

5. Photography Fullscreen WordPress Theme – JohnBlack Photography
If memory serves me well, this is the first time we have featured any work from GT3Themes in any of our lists, and oh boy what an introduction JohnBlack is.
JohnBlack is a stylish and powerful photography theme, packed with usable, pre-built pages you can import and all the gallery styles you can dream of. In contrast to many other themes out there, JohnBlack is powered by GT3’s bespoke page builder, but dont let that worry you – the process is simple and allows you the freedom you desire when showcasing your work.
6. Creative Portfolio WordPress Theme – SOHO Pro
Another entry from ThemeForest power-elite authors, GT3Themes, SOHO Pro provides a vibrant base for you to build a very eye-catching portfolio of your work.
The theme is bundled with the standards you would expect in the form of Visual Composer so its familiar and easy to use, but the main feature in SOHO is a killer range of portfolio styles and galleries which allow you to tailor each of your projects pages to suit the nature of the content very well. If your looking for a modern edge to compliment your own style, check out SOHO today.
7. Black – Minimal Portfolio WordPress Theme
Black from KibThemes takes a different tact to the themes above – you wont find 20 different header layouts here, just the options you need to create a very sleek gallery with ease.

9. Heat – Portfolio WordPress Theme
Similar to our own theme Peekskill, our next entry is a grid based design which really draws the eye’s towards the imagery within.
Heat actually the oldest theme (by some margin) in our list, which means its been tried and tested by thousands and its no suprise given its simple design really works well in this niche. The theme is powered by WPs built in gallery function so its light and breezy to use, and although it may be a little long in the tooth, its well with checking out.
10. Lupo / Portfolio WordPress Theme
Ending today’s list is a super-minimal offering from cuddly titled authors MoonBear, Lupo WordPress Theme. The theme is a more simplistic offering than many in the list above, but for me that works in its favour.
What your left with is a Visual Composer powered theme with simple to use galleries and the handful of options you need to get the job done. Featuring lightboxes (with video support) and support for CSS3 animations, Lupo is well worth the time to check out.
